For the first time ever, Oman Sail will host the 2022 RS Venture Connect World Championships in November 2022. From Sunday, 20 November to Sunday, 27 November, at the Barcelo Mussanah Resort, up to 36 teams from 15 countries will compete in the RS Venture boat. This boat is designed in particular for people with disabilities, including members of Oman Sail’s SailFree team.

Oman Sail wins bid to host 2022 RS Venture Connect World ChampionshipRS Venture Connect Class World Championship 2022 will once again feature a Para category as well as an Open category for teams entered. This will enable sailors who do not meet the World Sailing Minimal Disability Classification criteria to enter the Para category. As a result of the inclusion of the Open category, the event will present awards to both the Para and Open Venture Connect Class Champions.

In addition to this event, World Sailing, the global governing body for the sport, will organize a three-day Paralympic Development Program (PDP) Clinic to provide training for race officials and coaches. The clinic builds on the success of the first PDP, which took place in Oman in April.
